My blog: continuing a tradition of irregular updates since 2005 or so.

Hey everyone, thought I’d catch you up on whatever passes for news around here.

Concert News! I went out to see Nine Inch Nails in concert, my first concert performance that didn’t involve a string section. Unless an electric guitar counts as a string section, which it might, I guess. Anyway, the concert was great fun, and J(5) was a big help. On her advice, we parked near the exit to the venue, which allowed us to get out of the place probably a good half-hour earlier than everyone else. Mua ha ha. Anyway, the concert was great fun, the visual effects were great, and J(5) got to fawn over Trent Reznor and go all giddy when they showed his sweaty, toned self up on the jumbo-tron while singing some favorite tune. We weren’t that close to the stage (I didn’t even have to put in my earplugs) but I had a great time. And so, to follow up, I caught some news of my favorite omg [heart] band ever, Tool, coming back through LA. Hurrah, I thought, I’ll just pick up some tickets! Well even better, I got hooked up with the code for the pre-sale (along with everyone else on the local Radio’s Mailing list) and was able to pick up some tickets that put me way down on the floor for the concert. So I’m all terribly excited. I also picked up some tickets for ‘Video Games Live’ at the Hollywood Bowl. Excitement!

Hair! No, I still don’t have any, but I’ve been practicing. I’ve had two sisters for…oh, quite a while, now. But I’ve never been able to braid hair. The finger motions eluded me. My mom did my sisters hair, mostly, doing lovely braids when the situation called for it. Well as I have become more and more boyfriend-ly towards J(5), I have discovered that she loves getting her hair brushed, pretty much like I like getting my back scratched. And in addition to a nice hair-brushing, she also likes to get her hair braided. Not so much for the braiding, just for the tugging and the caressing and the playing-with of the hair. Well since she enjoys it so much, I’ve been practicing my hair-braiding technique. I’m certainly not as adept (yet) as someone with their *own* hair to practice on, but it’s less about the having of the braid, and more about the braiding. But the more I do it, the better I get, and J(5) has even kept a few of my braids, dubbing them worthy of carrying around. Well yesterday, enjoying a movie with J(5) at home, I was practicing my braiding technique with J(5) when I decided to try a French braid. I know, J(5) can’t even French braid her own hair. (Though her sister used to do it for her.) Well I looked up the instructions online (go Internet!) and gave it a few tries. I’m quite proud to announce that Jessie is wearing my French braid out in the world. Yay for me!

Going up to Alaska this very week to attend not one, but two weddings, one for my sister, and one from a high school friend. Also get to show J(5) around the wondrous wonders of Juneau. That’ll be tons and tons of fun, and the music has been selected, so all is well.

Video games are awesome.

I’ll be flying for work again pretty soon.

Went to see “Pirates of the Carribean 2: Dead Mans Chest: I refuse to just call this movie Pirates”, had a great time. Enjoyed it thoroughly, and the visual effects were fantastique!

Nothing more to write about, see many of you soon!

how did you and J5 met?

Hey, back in civilization. Did you have photos from the wedding? Any turn out? We'll probably be looking to compile in some online format at some point, so please don't delete them yet.
Thanks for all your help up here N,

S

Myah, we got us some pictures. Haven't bothered to pull them down to the computer yet, since I see my computer as often as I see my roomate...not often.

J(5) and I met at work, we both work at the same place and started right around the same time.
