Dag, that stings!

I sustained something that exists between an injury and a boo-boo at TKD last night. It was right at the end of the sparring match. I can’t tell you exactly what happened, which should be an indicator that I was not entirely master of my domain (not really a good thing), but I know that I made a move to my right, and he kicked with his left. He saw it was too close, though, and held back, which is good, but I still took a knee right on the outside of my quads. Charlie horse! Yowza! I think I played it off as pretty manly, I just kinda grimaced and kept my weight off it for a few seconds while I made sure it wasn’t broken or anything, and then even managed to do the end-of-sparring bow. Heh.

It’s really nothing more than a glorified bruise, when you get down to it, I guess I wanged the muscle a bit, and so I’m walking a touch gingerly. I have appropriate range of motion, it just stings when I stretch it (which I’m doing carefully). I’ll heal up just fine with time, I’m sure. Gives me some ideas of things to work on, too. I need more combos. I just sort of ‘kick what seems appropriate’. I need to work on two-or-three kick combos that I can whip out when appropriate. And a bunch of them, too. Not good to be predictable. Constant improvement.

Hopefully I’ll be able to run this weekend, too, but no need to aggravate it. We’ll see.

So what am I working on these days? Well, as it turns out, you know that project that got canceled? Yeah? Well…it’s back on! Such is the nature of R&D projects, usually. But yeah, that’s the thing. We’ll see how it leads into stuff. Wait and see.

Short post, just felt like complaining about my leg.

Ta!
